Review | Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I'm sure by now you've all heard everyone and their mothers talking about this palette. It features 3 shades of the powders, two from the permanent line (Dim Light and Radiant Light) and one (Incandescent Light) which is exclusive to this palette. I bought this palette on ebay (around $100), but you can find it at your local Mecca store (It is sold out online at the moment but hopefully they will restock!).

Also included in the palette is a sample size of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer which i'll review at a later date :)

These powders are truly amazing. Having not tried any finishing powders from Hourglass before, I really didn't know what to expect but these really blew me away. They are so soft and natural looking, and when applied they really create a beautiful flawless finish.

Sorry for the terrible swatches, I find it really hard to get them to show up in pictures but they are beautiful in real life, I promise!

Shades from Left to Right:

Dim Light - A neutral peach beige
This shade is a finishing powder that you can apply all over the face. It leaves a satin sheen finish on the skin. I especially like using this shade on top of my under-eye concealer to give it a flawless look.

Incandescent Light - A pearlescent shimmer
A subtle highlight shade which works amazingly on the brow bone, inner corner and cheekbones. It really gives a natural finish and is not overly frosted like many other highlighters. I wouldn't apply this shade all over the face though.

Radiant Light - A golden beige
This shade is great to use to warm up a complexion, to add some life back into the face. Whether it is used all over the face on a day where your skin needs some more warmth, or over the cheekbones for a subtle sun-kissed glow, I really enjoy this shade for those days where my face is lacking colour.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone looking to delve into the world of amazing finishing powders. It is a pricey product (58USD/99AUD) but I definitely think it is worth it. Given the amount of product and the quality, you definitely won't be disappointed!
